With a strong knowledge of the Highway/Heavy construction industry, Dan leads a staff that is universally known for their professionalism. From estimating to operations to administration, he stresses that the attention given to quality workmanship and client satisfaction leads to the relationships, which ultimately define you personally and professionally. Dan was fortunate to begin his full-time career with the highly regarded highway builder H.B. Rowe & Co. While learning the business from some of the best, he worked on many of the high-profile projects of the day as well as spending one year in the strip mines of southwest Virginia. With the blessing of Mr. Rowe, in 1981, Dan accepted the unique opportunity to join the startup company Rayford Contractors. For the next eighteen years, the company participated in the building of, among others, I-40, I-485 and Highway 421. He went on to become Executive Vice President, General Manager and partner during that period. Following a brief stay as Senior Project Manager at Crowder Construction Co, Dan joined the team at Propst Construction in 2000.
